Bespoke flat base print – how it works
If the terrain base isn’t for you, you could consider a flat base print. These are usually better for shorter rides where there is a lot of elevation change, eg. a mountain bike descent, or a noteworth road climb.
All we will need are the following:
- Your ride data – this is usually a Strava or Garmin Connect activity link, or if you can get the gpx files to us we can work with that
- The words you want on there – this is often the name of the ride, the date, the statistics (telling us if you want metric or imperial ideally) and where on the print if there’s a preference
- The colour scheme – you can have four colours by default but up to another four for an “additional colours supplement” which can be paid for later if we realise that four isn’t enough. Four is normally absolutely plenty for a flat base but you never know!
- Any logos you want on there – these may need simplifying if they use a lot of different colours or are complex
We can do an initial check of your ride to ensure it will print OK but thereafter we would need an order placed so we can start the detailed design. These prints take a little less than the terrain prints, usually less than 10 hours.
To discuss your next print just use the “contact us” page or the form at the bottom of this one!
In terms of sizing, the standard dimensions for a flat base print is 210mm x 120mm however if you want to “go large”, we can take the base up to the physical limits of the print bed, which in practice usually means around 220mm square. It will on the “shape” of your activity, however could be slightly smaller in either dimension if it is a “narrow” trace on the landscape, so we will send you as many visuals as needed before setting them off, because once we’ve pressed “go” there’s no turning back…
